We hired him last friday(08/15/08) for the first time. I found him on craigslist and setup an appointment for him to come out and fix our attic. He came over that Friday and my wife was here alone. She said he was a very nice guy, explained everything before he did anything, told us the cost up front, was reasonable priced and he fixed our attic door. Hi! Bill and his daughter were here on Friday the 1st of February. Showed up on time as scheduled and did an absolute fabulous job on my front door (sand, stain and clear coat) and repainted my 16 x 16 patio. 02/08 Bill did work for us about 2 weeks ago... some general weatherproofing, sealing, caulking, and replacement of part of our glass shower enclosure. We were generally satisfied... he came back yesterday to apply new adhesive to the shower door edge that had disconnected, so we were pleased with his responsiveness to that issue. He performed the work on the exterior of the home with the assistance of his daughter and another gentleman he was contracting. Very personable too, which is a bonus for any home contractor.

06/07 Bill hung some picture ledges I bought from Potter Barn Tuesday afternoon. These were not one or two easily hung, just throw it up on the wall shelves. I needed four ledges hung - two exactly level side by side, and two parallel to that above, also side by side, and all of it centered on a wall. Bill was painstaking in measuring and remeasuring and the ledges look fantastic - exactly how I envisioned they would look. Bill took a digital picture of them if you want to see - my camera is missing it's cord. Then upstairs, I need two more hung, and this is when I really began to like Bill. Whoever built this house ten years ago did a really crummy job, and this particular wall had begun to warp - to bow outward so the shelves would not be flush with the wall. The first ledge he hung wasn't too noticeable, but the second, lower ledge was even more affected by the bow, as the warping became more pronounced heading towards the floor. I was pretty sad about this, but Bill has come up with an idea to try adding washers to the outside screws to see if a more stable, flush edge can't be rigged. He's coming back with some washers next week, and also to hang some curtain rods. I really appreciated that, that this complete stranger could "think around corners" for us and come up with solutions to unforseen problems. I felt his price was reasonable.
